Handheld Tanning is a spray tan (also known as airbrush tanning) applied by one of our Norvell-certified sunless technicians. Starting with a pre-session consultation, we'll discuss your tanning goals and choose a solution and method that works best for you. Option 2:
The Auto Revolution Spray Booth is a first-of-its-kind, wide-open automated spray booth. The Auto Revolution uses an infrared scanner to provide a customized sunless session, and then provides total-privacy in a wide-open sunless booth. If you've tanned in other automated booths before, you'll notice a huge difference in those booths and the auto revolution. It never closes around you, so even the most claustrophobic tanner will be comfortable in the Auto Revolution. Pricing starts at $29 for a single tan. BEFORE YOUR TAN
PREPARE CORRECTLY!
Correct preps ensures your tan’s success!
Make sure to exfoliate 24 hours prior to your session. Do NOT exfoliate immediately before your session - your skin needs the amino acids on the surface of the skin present to bind with the spray solution to create a beautiful tan that sticks! Scrubbing your skin right before your session strips your skin of the necessary amino acids will lessen the results your tan.
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing and flip flops to your session. If rain is expected, wear pants and light jacket if possible. No makeup, lotion, and light deodorant, please!
Immediately before your sunless session, be sure to use an eXmitt (available in store) to gently prep, moisturize skin, & balance pH for the most even, richest and most perfect tan possible!
AFTER YOUR TAN
ALLOW THE TAN TO GET TO WORK!
Relax and let the solution do its job!
Your spray tan needs to sit on your skin for 18-24 hours before your first warm water rinse. Rapid solution only requires 1-3 hour. 1 hour for a light tan and no more than 3 hours for a dark tan (waiting longer will adversely affect your color. )
Regardless of your solution, a warm water rinse is all that should happen for your first shower. Gently use your hands to rid your skin of any excess cosmetic bronzer - and don’t worry! Your tan isn’t washing down the drain, just the cosmetic bronzer. *The use of soaps, washcloths, or loofahs at the first rinse will degrade your spray tan results.
If using the Rapid Tan solution, your tan will continue to darken for up to 24 hours after rinsing.

The secret to a well-maintained, gorgeous tan is in moisturized skin.
The best thing you can do for your spray tan is use a Norvell after care product, such as our Venetian Color Extender or Boost. These products can nearly double the life of your tan saving you time and money.
Not looking for a bronzing product? No problem! Our Body Butter will both leave your skin feeling silky smooth, and ready for that next tan.
Make sure you DON’T use a soap with sulfates! Dove and Safeguard will strip your tan immediately. Our pH balanced cleanser smells amazing and is sure to extend the life of your tan.
Frequently Asked Questions
+ Q: How long does the color last?
A: With little to no maintenance, the color from your tan will 5-7 days. At that point, it begins fading naturally. Some tanners may wish to exfoliate the remnants of their tan off at this time. With the use of our maintenance products, you can greatly extend the life of your tan. We recommend planning to spray every 10-14 days to maintain a healthy glow.

+ Q: What should I wear?
A: What you wear is entirely up to you. Please remember that wherever you are covered, you will have tan lines. For women, we suggest wearing minimal bottoms (not required) and no top. If you’d like to wear a top, we suggest wearing something strapless or something you can easily move straps to prevent tan lines. For men, we suggest minimal bikini-style underwear. Please understand these are just suggestions – you can wear whatever you’d like and we want you to be comfortable. After you tan, you should wear dark, loose-fitting clothes. In the event you perspire, this will prevent bronzer running obviously on your clothes.
Dark, loose clothing is best.
But don’t worry if you can’t change clothes you can always grab a SHADE tee to wear on your way out!
+ Q: How long does it take?
A: The sunless tan and application process is 10-15 minutes tops.
